Selena is about to turn 18.

But that does not mean that she is ready to fully enter the adult world.

In a recent interview with  Boston.com , Selena spoke about her role as Ramona’s big sis and how she deals when she feels nervous:

“What helps me is to use those feelings,” Selena adds. “When I get really nervous I like to talk about it or ask my mom what to do.”

The bigger lesson for kids dealing with adversity, Selena says, is that “Everything happens for a reason, and within each problem there’s a lesson you can learn.” Don’t be afraid that people will laugh or make fun of you, follow your passion, and keep your family close. “At the end of the day, family is all you’ve got,” she says.

The first option for the role of Beezus was not Selena, but Miley Cyrus! Miley asked for too much money to do the movie, so Selena was the next choice.

Rupert Grint, and James and Oliver Phelps — who play the famous Harry Potter Weasley boys — will be taking part in the Barmy to Barcelona Wacky Rally this weekend.

Together as the Salty Sea Dogs, the trio are aiming to raise awareness and funds for the charity, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, that saves lives at sea.

Oliver shared, “The idea of a wacky rally seemed like quite good fun, while also being challenging. Having great admiration for the work of RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards, who often face challenging situations, it made sense to choose to support them and their lifesaving work.”

Rupert joked, “We expect to ‘coast’ to Barcelona, ha ha. This is a brilliant way to see some great bits of Europe and even better that we can do it for a great cause. We’ve even got company in the form of a seagull perched on the boot of the car; we’re hoping it won’t need rescuing when the rally starts for real!”

Joey King cuddles some stuffed animals close to her as she visits FAO Schwartz in NYC earlier in the week.

The 11-year-old actress caught up with JJJ to chat all about her new flick, her Ramona-isms and the funniest thing that happened on set. Check it:

On how she won the role of Ramona: “It took almost a year process to go through all the auditions and everything to see who they really wanted for Ramona. It was a long process but it was so much fun and I’m happy I got to play her. We have some similarities and differences. Her and I have like the personality. We’re both really energetic, outgoing and she has a sister. I have two. But there are some differences too. Like she has a cat – I have three dogs.”

On her favorite on set story: “Oh! Here’s a good one. Me and John [Corbett], he and I planned this out. He wanted me to pretend in a scene – this was the beginning of filming – He said, ‘Joey, I want you in the scene to pretend to get really mad at me’ and I guess I did a convincing job because the producers came up to us afterwards and said, ‘Don’t ever do that again. You almost gave us a heart attack.’ It as so funny.”

On how she bonded with the cast: my favorite about the cast… they were all so nice people. I love working with Bridget [Moynahan]. She was always so sweet and we always had fun. John [Corbett], he’s such a goofball. He’s so hilarious and Selena [Gomez] – we’re like sisters now. Everybody on set was fun to work with and I really liked the storyline because it’s really based on the books. I actually think it’s good that they mostly base everything on the books. I think that’s nice.

Stay tune to JJJ throughout the weekend for more of our interview with Joey!
