Many times the supplies we use for school are not earth-friendly. Even if you try to buy all your notebook paper recycled and make sure to print on both sides of the paper, it is impossible to be 100% green.

Sometimes we forget too, that pencils are made from wood and usually this wood is not recycled or even manufactured in a ‘green’ way. Plus, it is not easy to recycle a pencil. But there is one earth-friendly pencil out there that solves this issue.

It is a pencil called Seed, and when you have used it up, you plant it! Inside this pencil there is a seed, so all you have to do is put it in the ground.

We love this idea and we like that by using this pencil you are helping to reforest the earth. Another thing you can do to save on resources is use up your erasers before buying new ones and always recycle paper.

Your hairstyle can accentuate your natural beauty, or not. It is important to pick a hairstyle that brings out the best of your face.

Square face: If your face has a lot of hard angles, then you want a haircut that softens these lines. The best is a shoulder-length cut that is wavy, not straight. Hayden Panettiere has this sort of face and cut. She looks good with bangs, but doesn’t usually have them.

If you have a triangular face then you may have a prominent of pointy chin, like Kristen Stewart. The best look for you then is long hair cut into layers that will give it volume.

Long face: If your face is long then you will want to wear your hair curly or wavy with bangs. Taylor Swift is a good example of this look. Check her out with straight hair!

Round face: If you have a round face then you can wear your hair in just about any style. Just look at Selena and Miley! But the best cut is a long straight style that balances the roundness of their faces.

Pretty Before Going To Bed!

It is best to take some time before you go to bed to take care of any beauty needs. In the morning we are always in a hurry, so if you get ready a bit the night before you will have less to do in the morning.

Tired eyes, To avoid puffy or dark circles under your eyes in the morning, try out this trick. Take a warm tea bag and place it under your eyes for 10 minutes. You’ll see how relaxing this is!

After the tea, then take a hot shower and watch your face well with a special pore cleansing soap. This will get rid of blackheads and other unwanted blemishes.

What about tired legs? To avoid tired legs, spray your legs down with super cold water!

OK, we know this sounds a bit nuts, but cold water will get your circulation going and revive tired legs.
Hair. Dry your hair before going to bed. If you sleep on wet hair you could get sick and you may wake up in the morning with a strange hairdo!

If you follow these easy steps, then when you wake up in the morning all you will have to do is wash your face and brush your teeth, and off you go! Ready!

Where Does Cinnamon Come From?

WHERE DOES CINNAMON COME FROM?

None of the desserts we love would taste as good without cinnamon. But where does this yummy spice come from?

Cinnamon comes from a tree that is native to the south of India and happens to be one of the oldest used spices around. Cinnamon is taken from the bark of this tree.

Besides being good to eat, it turns out that cinnamon is also good for you. Hot milk and cinnamon will help you sleep. It also helps with digestion, so eating some cinnamon after a big meal will help you digest your food.

Have you ever burned your tongue because you drank something that was too hot? Well next time just put a bit of cinnamon on the burn and let its calming effects take over as it helps to renew burned cells.

How Do You Care For A Guinea Pig?

HOW DO YOU CARE FOR A GUINEA PIG?

The Guinea Pig is one of the most friendly and sweetest animals that a person can adopt.

Unlike the hamster, Guinea Pigs do not bite when they feel threatened, instead they become paralyzed and don’t move. They never attack.

The first few days that you have a Guinea Pig in your house can be a bit stressful for the animal and when you approach it, it will run the other way. But wait a bit, little by little the Guinea Pig will begin to trust you.

To begin winning its trust pet your Guinea Pig often. It will like it and to show you that it does, it will purr and even jump a bit. Don’t worry if you see the Guinea Pig running around and jumping like it is having an attack. This is normal and it is the way that they release energy.

Guinea Pigs need a lot of space. So if you adopt one then make sure the cage you get is spacious. Guinea Pigs are not climbers and they are a bit clumsy if anything, so make sure not to fill their cages with wheels and toys. What they do like are tunnels and space to burrow, so you could provide them with these.

And what does a Guinea Pig eat? You can buy special pellets for it at the pet store. Guinea Pigs also nee a lot of vitamin C, so make sure to give it sweet peppers and a variety of fruits throughout the week. For example: Monday – oranges, Tuesday – tomato, Wednesday – carrots, Thursday – banana, Friday – apple, Saturday – fresh spinach and on Sunday- kiwi.

Better School Grades Now!

BETTER SCHOOL GRADES NOW!

How many times has this happened to you? You start to get sleepy 10 minutes into studying!

If you don’t have a clear study plan, doing your homework could turn into the hardest part of the day. But there is hope!

Organize your desk. You need an organized space to work and free of things that might distract you from the work at hand.

Study Alone. Don’t study in the living room if you can’t help it. There is always someone  in the living room watching TV or doing something and this will distract you. Study in your room with the door shut.

Eliminate distractions. If the computer is turned on then this can be your worst enemy. Internet is an easy distraction and if you’re have a hard time with your homework and you may just end up browsing online. Only turn on the computer if you have a question relevant to your homework that you need to look up online.

Make a realistic plan and timetable for doing your homework. Don’t just say, ‘I will study today for 3 hours without stopping!’ Study for an hour, take a five minute break, and then go back to it. If you do this for 2 or 3 hours each day (depending on how much homework your teacher gives you) then you will surely improve your grades.

Grass Shoes?

GRASS SHOES?

Have you ever walked barefoot through the grass? They say it is a relaxing experience, but you also may be afraid to step on a bug!

One shoemaker had the idea to make sandals that give the same sensation as you would get walking through fresh grass! They are called Grass Flip Flops and they are recommended for everyone who leads a stressful life and needs more contact with nature.

These original and green shoes are made from 5,000 blades of grass. When you are not using them you have to put them in the sunlight and water them. If taken care of, these fun sandals can last for up to 4 months.
