You might need to use tools that require adult supervision, such as glue gun and scissors. If so, these can be replaced by textile glue and safety scissors. Make sure you ask your parents some help.
Want to enjoy birdsong without having to lock a bird up in a cage? We have the solution.
Here is how to make your very own backyard bird feeder:
1-Start by drawing a 1/2-inch asterisk on the side of a clean 1-liter soda bottle, about 4 inches from the bottom.
2-Rotate the bottle 90 degrees and draw another asterisk 2 inches from the bottom. Draw a 1-inch-wide circle opposite each asterisk.
3- Ask your parents to use a craft knife to slit the asterisk lines and cut out the circles. Insert a wooden spoon handle first through each hole and then through the opposite asterisk, – see the picture.
4 – Remove the bottle cap and twist a small eye screw into the top of it for hanging.
And that’s that! Now all you have left to do is hang your feeder from a tree and wait for it to call the birdies in your area. They will especially appreciate your creation come winter!

In the wild they are arch enemies! The cat hunts the bird and the bird flees from the feline!
But the rules can change when two animals grow up together from infancy. These two have been together since they were babies and now get along like best buds. Look at how sweet this cat and parakeet are together playing and even napping together.

The music in this video is composed according to where these birds are on these telephone wires. The photo was taken by Paulo Pinto. In the photo, every bird represents a note on a scale.
Jarbas Agnelli came up with this original idea which combines music and animals. He took this bird photo by Paulo Pinto and added the music. He said, ‘Reading a newspaper, I saw a picture of birds on the electric wires. I cut out the photo and decided to make a song, using the exact location of the birds as notes (no Photoshop edit). I knew it wasn’t the most original idea in the universe. I was just curious to hear what melody the birds were creating.’
The result is amazing: music made from where the birds sit, which Paulo Pinto captured unknowingly, and Jarbas deciphered.
