Selena is about to turn 18.

But that does not mean that she is ready to fully enter the adult world.

In a recent interview with  Boston.com , Selena spoke about her role as Ramona’s big sis and how she deals when she feels nervous:

“What helps me is to use those feelings,” Selena adds. “When I get really nervous I like to talk about it or ask my mom what to do.”

The bigger lesson for kids dealing with adversity, Selena says, is that “Everything happens for a reason, and within each problem there’s a lesson you can learn.” Don’t be afraid that people will laugh or make fun of you, follow your passion, and keep your family close. “At the end of the day, family is all you’ve got,” she says.

The first option for the role of Beezus was not Selena, but Miley Cyrus! Miley asked for too much money to do the movie, so Selena was the next choice.

In the southern hemisphere it is the summertime, but here in the northern hemisphere it is cold as ice.

Europe and North America are experiencing one of the worst winters ever: iced over airports, cities cut off from roads…The ice and snow have caused a lot of problems but they have also created the opportunity to take some cool photos like the ones we have for you today.

But what is there to do when it is so cold out? The best thing to do is to stay home. But, if you have to go out then make sure you are covered up well. Use a scarf, boots, long underwear, thick pants, a wool sweater, gloves and a hat.

All this clothing may not be very attractive but it is key if you don’t want to catch cold. The hat may be the most important item you wear, as you will lose lots of heat through your head. It will also keep your ears from freezing, which would give you a headache.

Once the body is cold it is pretty hard to get it warmed up again. If you are chilled, drink hot liquids, like coco. This will help you warm up and stock up on some needed calories.
