Debby Ryan is just one of many celebs who are taking the initiative to keep art in school systems.

Together with DoSomething.org, HP and AMD, have teamed up for a new initiative called “Make Art. Save Art.,” which encourages teens to showcase their artistic talents and passion.

Artists can create PC wallpaper designs and submit them to MakeArtSaveArt.org along with a testimonial about why art education matters to them.

The top five most shared designs will win an HP dv6z Pavilion notebook with VISION technology from AMD. The Grand Prize winner will be selected from the most shared designs by a panel of expert and celebrity judges to receive a $5000 grant for his or her school art program and 5 HP dV6z Pavilion notebooks for the art room.

Debby shared about the program, “It carries over into real life, you know, if you look at a piece of clay and you just see a ball of clay then that’s all you’re going to see in the world. But if you see kind of a situation and you realize that you can do something with it, and mold it and shape it, I think it all starts in the art room.”

The eight-week campaign will run through Sept. 30. Artists can submit designs at any time during the campaign. “Sharing” will launch Sept. 1.
