Christmas Movies!
If you love the movies, then see a few classics this holiday season. Here are some of the best all time Christmas flicks.
If you love creatures and a laugh, don’t miss The Gremlins, Home Alone and Nightmare Before Christmas.
The Gremlins is a movie from the 80′s and is about a dad who gives his son a weird gift : an cute animal that cannot get wet or be fed after midnight.
Home Alone you may have seen. What would you do if your parents left you home alone while they went on vacation and forgot all about you? Sounds like a dream right?
Nightmare Before Christmas is about a skeleton named Jack who is sick of scaring people for Halloween. So by accident he goes on a trip to another world where everything is covered in white and people are happy and give each other beautiful gifts.
Edward Scissorhands is another great one about where snow comes from. A tip, be ready with the tissues, this is a tearjerker.

No Binge Holidays!

The holidays are coming, which means vacations, presents, family, and over-eating.
Christmas without a lot of food would not be Christmas! However, with so many meals, it’s a good idea to be careful with what you eat, as over doing it could cause tummy problems.
Balance is the key. Normally you will end up eating appetizers, a first course and second course and lots of sweets. If you eat it all, you might just explode. How can you stop your desire to eat everything when all of it looks so tempting? Practice moderation. You can eat it all if you just eat a little of everything.
You could also ask your family to prepare a more healthy meal. You could suggest a salad for the first course and a fruit salad for dessert instead of pie. Try to avoid heavy plates for the first and second courses and sometimes one serving is more than enough. You could also skip dessert altogether. With all the chocolates and Christmas candy available, you will eat more that enough sugar.
When the holidays are over, try to eat healthfully. Between parties and feasting, eat veggies, fruits, and fish on the grill to give you stomach a break.
From next week until the holiday season is over, we will be providing you with lots of holiday recipes to try out this year!

Earth Friendly Christmas Tree!
One of the most important Christmas decorations is the Christmas tree. But when we consider the environment, how can we have a tree and be environmentally responsible?
There are many ways. You could choose a fake tree instead of a real one. Every year these trees are more popular because they last for years, don’t make a mess and most importantly, they don’t add to the destruction of the environment by cutting down live trees.
What if you really want a natural tree? Well, if you have a garden then you could ask your parents to plant a Norfolk pine tree. It is not the typical tree, but it is very resistant and can live in almost any climate. You could plant this tree and then decorate it outside. Remember that with trees outside you need to use special outdoor lighting.
And if you don’t have a garden? You could still buy a small tree in a pot. However it is likely that this tree will die. Even though it is in dirt, it is hard for these trees to live out of their natural habitat. When Christmas is over make sure to bring the tree to a place where it can be recycled.
And decorations? You can decorate the tree however you like. There are the typical ornaments like balls, lights, tinsel but you could also add to the mix by making your own ornaments. Check out the decorations made from fabric below. They are really cool!
